Coachwork by E. Cocozza & Sons Ltd., Van and Truck Bodybuilders and Repairers of Motherwell, Lanarkshire. Cocozza & Sons continue to build the style of ice cream vans like they had been manufactured by Archibald Scott Ltd. of Bellshill, Lanarkshire, which is why I think they might be the successors to Scott or at least acquired their toolings. Educated guess: Mr. Cocozza possibly worked at Scott Ltd. before he either started his own business or took over the company and relocated a few kilometres away. |

The name sounds Italian, so Mr Cocozza might have come from a family in the ice cream trade. P.S. No such thing as a 1990 Sprinter. The first year was 1995. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_Sprinter -- Last edit: 2019-07-27 21:26:31 |

Yes, either a T1 or a Sprinter with the plate from one. |

"Eduardo Cocozza" sounds even more Italian and there might well be a connection to the ice cream trade. Yes, 1995+ makes sense, but I guess it's even younger. Cocozza & Sons were in business from 2006 to 2013 and while a used chassis to be converted is very likely, I doubt someone would have ordered an eleven year old Sprinter to be rebodied as an ice cream van. Whitby Morrison would still do the occasional Bedford CF nowadays, but a Sprinter doesn't have that iconic appearance to justify such a venture. Let's make it a 1995, but I actually expect this to be a chassis from around 2000-2006. Edit: I wasn't able to find out how long Archibald Scott Ltd. were in business - *maybe* this is still a Scott body. -- Last edit: 2019-07-27 22:17:52 |

Now listed as Sprinter [T1], which also does not exist. The code for the first generation Sprinter is [T1N]. The front is hard to see, but doesn't it look more like a T1 than a Sprinter? |

Looks like a T1 to me: https://youtu.be/p0PQSz2Q4Cg?t=605 |

Of course it is a T1, and the rear lights confirm that. And isn't that rather a two stars vehicle? |

Ah, beautiful! Great joint effort, guys! That means it's still a Scott conversion (or a Scott body transferred to another chassis, just to mention that possibility as well) and we shelve the Cocozzas for now, until one of their ice cream vans emerges. |
