As filmed in 1987 "origin SU", not "origin RUS" |

It seems to be a commercial car. I wonder why the ordered a Lada instead of something else... |

Because it was -and still is!- always the cheapest Offroader on Western European markets. And it's real usable Offroader, not just lifestyle-SUV-toy-shit. It may had been even the cheapest 4x4 at all (but I'm not sure about Subaru Justy and Fiat Panda 4x4) ![]() |

The Dacia Duster is not an appropriate Offroader. |

The ARO was sold as Dacia Duster here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yugo_lada/7427619972/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/yugo_lada/7427679930/in/photostream -- Last edit: 2012-12-21 20:34:48 |

![]() ![]() @Andre: The (ARO) Dacia Duster wasn't sold in West Germany (in the DDR of course neither. There not even the Lada Niva to private persons). Some single cars existed here, but not in remarkable numbers. |

P.S. In Germany Dacia became more and more popular, especially since the Abwrackprämie in 2009. My brother-in-law has bought a brand new Dacia Duster a few months ago - he even had to wait for it several weeks, because it's so popular. He had a Logan MCV before and was mainly happy with it. btw.: it's a "made for PL"-version, because he has bought it in Slubice. Even in the actual all-EU-times there are still differences. I don't know the exact details now, but a specific combination of extra options is PL-specific. |

With the new Sandero, Lodgy and the facelift of the Duster next year, they also get safer and more efficient. I think they all have ESP (DSC) as standard and you can also order the new 0.9l turbo-engine from the new Clio. |

The Aro 10 was even assembled in Italy, with (old?) Volkswagen engines, and sold as "Enduro 4x4"... Link to "www.autosoviet.altervista.org" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B3Uo86-j_0 |

That's what I like about this site, only a small picture of a Lada Niva starts an interesting discussion ![]() |
