![]() ![]() ![]() Some more Rolls-Royces appear parked in front of the mansion (the same one that was used as Bruce Wayne's mansion in Batman Begins), they are more visible on a larger TV screen. ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-01-21 22:55:25 |

Is this definetely a Silver Spur? The side of the car isn't very visible (Silver Spurs had longer rear doors than the Silver Spirit). |

I'm not a Rolls expert but I don't see how you can tell this is a Silver Spur from what you see of this car in the film. Don't the Silver Spirit and Spur look the same from the front? And isn't the Spirit more common? |

"Everflex" vinyl roof points to Spur.I would say 90% are Spirits |

This car was built to American specifications. In the U.S. the large majority of all Rolls-Royce saloons sold were Silver Spurs. It is also very rare to find a Spirit with the optional everflex roof, especially in the U.S. Therefore, you can safely assume that this is a Silver Spur. |

Are you sure this is a US model and not an LHD European one? Aside from some second unit filming, Eyes Wide Shut was made entirely in the UK. |

I stand corrected, Sir! After having had another close look, I've dicovered that I was fooled by the American registration plates. It is indeed a European spec. vehicle! I should have immediately spotted this as all U.S. spec. vehicles have single colour (orange) turn indicators / parking lights, whereas all other markets have duo colours (orange for indicators, white for parking lights). Still, it doesn't alter the fact that Spirits with Everflex roof covering are very rare, and I'd be very surprised if this was one of them. |

What was the year they started putting the numberplate on the bumper instead of below it on Silver Spirits/Spurs? |

Sept 85 onwards in UK, accompanied by a smaller radiator badge. |

Unless it can proven it's 1990 (I get the feeling someone plucked that year out of the air), then I'm listing it as 1986+ |

Was it the same for Bentleys as well? |

No mention given for Bentley numberplates in the Sept 85 tinkerings (Eight got cloth upholstery as std, Mulsanne got Turbo R wheels, ordinary Turbo dropped). |

C-pillar and alloys not visible, so what do you think about the air dam? (personally I find it hard to tell the difference) -- Last edit: 2012-01-21 23:56:39 |

No info given on front air dam for RR until July 95 ("Integrated front bumper and airdam, radiator shell height reduced by 2", 16" wheels ...."). As for Bentley, only mention is June 88 on Turbo R (colour-keyed front airdam and sill extensions); however ordinary Mulsanne had adopted Turbo R styling and become S in Aug 87 - unclear from text if the June 88 airdam/sill was also adopted. |
