All Nash Metropolitans were made by Austin in England: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nash_Metropolitan |

Wow! I specifically made an account just to post this comment. This was my grandpa's car, his name is Wayne Knight. It is a '56 and he recently sold it, as it was sitting next to his house in a suburb of Edmonton, AB. I didn't think searching up "Metropolitan car running brave" would come up with a forum post about my grandpa's car. He told me once that the movie crew treated it quite poorly, as they would take it to parties and see how many people they could fit in it. After the movie was finished being filmed, he couldn't afford to repair the damage they had done, so it sat in his yard for years and years. It was only last summer that I got to see it without the tarp on it for the first time. He was really proud of having the car and was reluctant to sell it, but did because he knew it was going to a good home, and the buyer was planning on restoring it to full operating condition. He also owns a one-owner '67 Mustang fastback, in a bronze type color. |

Thanks for the info Though that it is sad to hear that the car was treated that way. Usually people who provide cars for movies are happy of the experience. I've linked your account as owner of the car, until we eventually get the actual/current owner on the site. -- Last edit: 2013-05-15 17:20:43 |
