Starting with the 1960 model year, the C/K line of pickups was born. GM officially named them the C/K Series, to announce the arrival of factory all-wheel drive. The term "All-Wheel Drive" was actually used in period documentation, rather than just the use of the Four-Wheel Drive term. Also notable was that GM warned not to use the K-Series' All-Wheel Drive system on pavement. The names Apache, Spartan, and so on, were more like trim levels. |
