The term "All-Wheel Drive" was actually used in period documentation, rather than just the use of the Four-Wheel Drive term. Also notable was that GM warned not to use the K-Series' All-Wheel Drive system on pavement. The names Apache, Spartan, and so on, were more like trim levels.
