*** Used in a car chase. |
◊ 2006-02-07 21:35 |
You're probally right, although there was a long chase with it in it....I have seen this movie a long time ago..my memory must not be that good... |
◊ 2006-02-08 20:13 |
I completely forgot that there was this other chase (similar to the one with the Toyota in the 3rd movie, maybe that's for this reason that I forgot this one?). So you are right, we could give it 4 stars. But same for the two Freightliner trucks then... 1982 Chevrolet S-10. |

What makes you say that? |
◊ 2007-10-04 00:47 |
I said three stars because it fit the criteria of "used in a car chase" only. However, some other administrators/members think that 4 stars is adequate, so even though I disagree with them on this issue, I'll leave the 4 stars as antp believes that is the best call. ![]() Also, may I suggest that you remove your last name from your profile? It's just a suggestion, but you have to be smart about giving out information like that. -- Last edit: 2007-10-04 00:48:13 |

ford guy,I still think it deserves 4 stars, and yes I did remove my last name by the way. |

4 stars should to be given to a car that either appears throught the film or is used in a very long action scene (like the cars in Ronin). This only gets about 3 or 4 minutes of screen time and it isn't a very memoriable vehicle. In my opinion the most memorable vehicle in this film is the huge black tow truck used in the LA flood control channel chase. I'm not sure that nitrogen tanker deserves 4 stars either (it isn't on screen long enough). |

This one gets the same kind of action than cars in Ronin chases, no? But indeed it was probably not so memorable... So, only 3 for this one and the Freightliner FLC then? -- Last edit: 2007-10-04 15:09:36 |

Yes, I think so. |

It gets "Borrowed" by The protagonists after the T1000 flips their Chevy Step Van Then it gets trashed in a chase with the Freightliner FLC and crashes into a forklift. |

I remember that when they were flooring the pickup truck, the speedo barely crack at 90 MPH.. I was thinking this vehicle may have base 4 cylinder version... According to George H. Dammann's 75 years of Chevrolet, the S10 were introduced as 1983 model year. |
◊ 2008-05-05 02:41 |
Maybe in the first few model years there wasn't an engine size badge below the driver's side headlamp. Or for whatever model year this is, 4cyl models did not have a badge. |
◊ 2009-03-02 01:19 |
The badge was added in 1986 when the engines gained fuel injection. |

I own a 1982 Chevy S10 and I can say that its is correct the engine badge did not come out til 86 as previously stated. My S10's badge just says "S-10". Also the 4cyl and 6cyl had very little improvement in speed over the other than the 2.8L V6 had more torque. My 2.8L is registered only to max at 85 and it takes all she has to get there. The 82 version of the 2.8L is a "hit 'n' miss" design and is the only year to have a cable clutch system (following year would be equipped with a hydraulic clutch system). In 1983 they made many adjustments to the 2.8L build though no significant change in HP (HP increase would come within a couple years time). Which means the original 1982 2.8L engine is rare (not in the expensive good way) and at time difficult to find replacement parts or tuning up since measurements where even changed (spark plugs gap is .40 not .45 which is for later 2.8L) Hope this clears up everything. Btw though yes I totally agree the truck is not popular by any means on the big screen but on the street scene its pretty big. -- Last edit: 2009-07-04 10:40:59 |

rjluna2 US ◊ 2008-05-05 00:00 Quote I remember that when they were flooring the pickup truck, the speedo barely crack at 90 MPH... it shows 60 MPH when i looked and he said "this is the vehicles top speed". sorry i can't believe that now. they could have at least showed it around 85 now and that would have been more believable but i know they can get past that too. i did have a 90 chevy s10 but it had the 4.3 liter engine and was a manual. it had no trouble getting upto 60. funny thing i noticed too when seeing the movie it jumps to 65 then down to 60 fast when they show it like they were trying to keep it slower too. |

Man, Hollywood destroyed a nice classic! Hollywood always destroys good cars like in The Bounty Hunter, they destroyed an Oldsmobile 98, while in Robocop, they destroyed the Ford Taurus police cars. |

Equipped with the 1982-1985 2 spoke "sport" steering wheel, which is seldom seen today. |
