1987-1989 Chevrolet Caprice because I see composite headlights. -- Last edit: 2013-02-02 17:14:10 |

You can't see much detail from the photos, but the side shot of the doors is absolutley from a 1977-79 Caprice or Impala. Most likely an Impala if since it's a police car. Not sure about the composite lights in the one shot. If it is, then they use more than one car for the shots. |

I think tail headlights more look 1986-1990 Caprice than 1977-1979 Chevrolet Caprice-Impala. |

The front shot does look somewhat more like a 1987-90 car, and the rear roofline looks at least like a 1980-90. However, I do know 100% the doors are from a 1977-79. The door handles and placement location were different in these years vs the 1980-90. So perhaps they used two cars. And actually looking at that side door shot, it looks like it might have a wrap around front signal light, which would indicate that it was a 1977-79 Caprice. Impala's didn't have the wrap around lights. -- Last edit: 2013-02-02 18:09:23 |

Ok. I agree with idea that they used two cars. |

There is more than one car. The side shots are most certianly a 1977-79 Caprice - the doors are a DEAD give away cannot be anyother year. Link to "www.autoguru-katalog.at" Notice the difference in the 1980+ Doors: Link to "www.curbsideclassic.com" The main shot looks like 1987-90 Caprice, notice the wrap around signals with the lower yellow colour. Here is a 1987-90 signal light: Link to "i.ebayimg.com" The other two that rjluna2 listed as a 1981-85 Impala, could be a 1980-85 Impala. It looks like it has a Chevy bowtie in the one shot, which was only used on the 1980-85 Impala. Also note on the rear shot no CHMSL, and only the outside lights are light (not the center) which is consistent with an Impala as well. http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/chevrolet-impala-1981-1.jpg Impala Rear lights: /i221560.jpg Caprice Rear Lights: 1980-1985 Link to "www.motorbase.com" 1986-90 http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/2711/1801/31775900007_large.jpg -- Last edit: 2013-02-02 20:53:55 |

Since there is clearly different cars used here, shouldn't the photos be broken up into separate cars? |

^Malibu here, Caprice here |

Looks good now, but if we are agreeing the main car is an Impala, shouldn't it be listed as a 1980? The only difference between a 1980 and a 1981-85 is the grille detail, which you can't see in these photos. So that would make the car a 1980-85, listed as a 1980? |

The grille detail is shown at the first thumbnail provided by Jale shows that is 1981-85 grille version. |

Well, if you can see that detail you have good eyes, I sure can't in that fuzzy pic. There is very little difference between an 80 and 81 grille. 1980: http://webtech.tstc.edu/students/fowlerg/1301final/images/80.gif 1981: http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/chevrolet-impala-1981-1.jpg I really can't say if the main pic is an 87-90 or a 80-85 Impala with any certainty due to the low photo quality, but I do agree it's one of the two. It may be more likely an Impala as the other's pictures are defintetly are 80-85 Impala's. -- Last edit: 2013-02-04 20:30:02 |
