Looks like a 1979 Ford, probably an F-350 since it's a wrecker. Some 1978's had the rectangular lights, but they were higher trim levels that typically had the chrome side moldings. |

That is 1978 version due to matte black headlight bezels. |

No, not all 1978's had black bezels, and not al 1979's where chrome. I still say more likely a 1979 since a wrecker is likely low grade trim, like a Custom, which used round lights in 1978. True, but it doesn't have the side moldings either, which the higher trim levels had in 1978 that also had the square lights. |

Caprice_96 is accurate. Sorry rjluna2. Black bezels were always standard for 1978-1979 on Custom models. 1978 Custom have circular headlamps while all 1979 trimmed models have square headlamps. The black bezels were standard on Custom/Ranger/Ranger XLT and chrome bezels were optional on the latter two trims. Only the Ranger Lariat received chrome bezels standard. Thus making this a 1979.
