no doubt Plaxton Elite body, but which chassis manufacturer? depending on rear viwe no Ford R-226 /vehicle_29799-Ford-R-226-1969.html but most likely VOLVO B58 http://pics.imcdb.org/0is33/volvocve21v.9673.jpg to take too big a risk? Yes, as it could be Leyland Tiger, or AEC Reliant http://www.flickr.com/photos/26237061@N07/6813478785/ we need to know company -- Last edit: 2013-02-09 00:01:01 |

Today there is a Plaxton Elite again, it costs £780,000 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaxton_Elite with unique curved front end like Boeing 747 -- Last edit: 2013-02-10 03:10:09 |

Plaxton Panorama Elite body. Leyland Tiger would be a safe bet, though we really do need more information. Could be a Baxter's coach, though I'm having doubts. @andrepa Ford is also not out of the question, the coach you provided a link to is showing the earlier style of taillights. ![]() |

Definitely not a Leyland Tiger - the Tiger chassis wasn't launched until 1980 but this body is either a Plaxton Panorama Elite III or a Plaxton Elite Express III (both built 1972-75). Earlier Elites had round taillights, and the later Supreme had a different profile. Non-standard chromework on the side - the two parallel strips above wheelarch level are closer together than usual, which was an option to suit the customer. Probably 11m long but maybe 12m (hard to tell from this angle). Options for the chassis are AEC Reliance, Bedford YRT, Bristol LHL, Ford R226 or R1114, Leyland Leopard or Volvo B58. We need to know the operator. |
