GMC "New Look." Now I wonder which bus company this is. |

2nd Gen bus, indicated by two, not three roof mounted clearance lights not mounted in chrome trim, 40 foot length, indicated by seven narrow windows on the side, above the main ones, and transit bus, as opposed to suburban bus, indicated by the lack of baggage bays. No way of knowing if it has an automatic or a manual though, so, it could be either a TDH-53xx or a TDM-53xx. The xx would be where the series number would go, but that's impossible to tell without physically looking at the manufacturers information plate on the bus itself, so that's the best anyone can do. |

Washington Marlboro & Annapolis Transit. Fleet number is in the 500s, indicating WM&A acquired the bus in 1965. The "series number" is based on the width - a TDH5303 is 102 inches wide, and a TDH5304 is 96 inches. You can tell the width by whether there is a space between the GM emblem or not. This looks like a 5303 but it's too blurry to tell for certain. WM&A had both models in the 500 series; 511-520 were TDH5304s and 521-527 were TDH5303s. Also, 526 and 527 were former demonstrator buses bought slightly used from GM; 526 was a 1964 and 527 was a 1963. Can't tell either the year or the model for certain without a better view of the front. |
