A number of images of 1951 Targa Florio, XMC 2, via John's link. Targa XMC 1, driven by Tom Conway in 'Park Plaza 605' (seemingly not yet on the imcdb, alas) is involved in a car chase with a 1930s Armstrong Siddeley, BPJ 39, the latter holding its own with the 'Nash with a little help from the film editor, etc. |

XMC 2 info from https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/frazer-nash/targa-florio/1952/259636 "FN162 is the prototype Targa Florio and the first '200' chassis car that Frazer Nash built. Completed in April 1952, XMC 2 was kept by the works and had an experimental suspension setup tested on it but eventually the standard A-bracket setup was fitted to the car. Registered XMC 2, Frazer Nash used the identity of the destroyed Bob Spikins Le Mans Rep (FN152) and the engine was re numbered to FNS1/35 in order to match the logbook. Frazer Nash kept XMC 2 as a demonstrator, rally car and as Chairman HJ Aldington's personal transport. During this time it was lent to Alex von Falkenhausen for the 1954 Rallye Soleil Cannes, finishing 11th, and the 1954 Alpine Rally where he was unfortunately involved in an accident after being unable to avoid a spinning car from a momentarily earlier crash. Frazer Nash repaired XMC 2 and sold it to ....." |
