I've seen this movie. I think this is a 1990 which was the Celebrity's last year and was only available as a wagon. it's also the only year with the 3.1 V6 which I think this car has. |

This is a 1990 only. If you zoom in on the fender badge it states 3.1. 1990 was the first year for that optional motor. Also in one of the thumbnails you can make out the door mounted seatbelts. -- Last edit: 2016-09-16 20:48:35 |

no need to zoom... 3.1 came out for 1990 and was the only year that the Celebrity had it ( Celebrity wagon got killed after 1990, sedan in 1989) |

Yep. You're right. The Celebrity was replaced by the Lumina in 1990, which is the car the dad drives. |

Successor to the original Malibu and predecessor the the Lumina (which is also featured in this film). Nothing really special to say except that it was essentially a re-badged Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, Pontiac 6000, or Buick Century at the time.
