This looks like a Piaggio Ape pick-up truck http://www.apevan.co.uk/ |

According to a picture in a book it is a Mazda from the 1950s. I have no model name so far. |

I know only K360, T600 and T1500 as 3 wheeler from Mazda, but they are really different. It looks very Daihatsu midget as suggested Datsun Z |

I agree with Daihatsu Midjet (1963-72 [MP5] by the length of cargo box) About 160,000 was exported to asian countries. |

It must be older than the ones you listed, which, as far as I know, are from the 1960s. I don't think it is a Daihatsu Midget Trimobile, as the shape of the wing towards the front lamp is rather angular. http://hotrodders.com/gallery/data/500/DSCN0026.JPG The image I have, which shows the rear window, matches perfectly. Unless the author of the book is wrong this is a Mazda. |

Author of the book is wrong ![]() hotrodders.com/gallery/data/500/DSCN0026.JPG is Daihatsu Trimobile. *Daihatsu Midjet, older [MP4] model (sorry, japanese page...imageshack dosen't work now! ![]() http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~rf7k-inue/izen/no-6/mizeet/mizeet.html *rear view of Midget [MP5] http://page.freett.com/lpg/miizumi01.html *Mazda K360 http://www.geocities.co.jp/MotorCity/3660/k360a1.htm http://meisha.sitenavi.org/m_K360.htm -- Last edit: 2006-11-11 15:19:51 |

The "lines" on the rear of the cab are not the same (vertical vs horizontal) ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-11-11 15:19:47 |

I added [MP5] links (MP4=vertical, MP5=horiozontal) |
◊ 2006-11-11 15:52 |
Obviously! Your links look convincing! Is 'Midjet' correct, not 'Midget'? And was 'Trimobile' not used in Japan as part of the name? |
◊ 2006-11-11 16:51 |
OUCH!!! misspelled! Sorry, 'Midget' is right. 'Trimobile' wasn't used in Japan. The name of 'Daihatsu Trimobile' was used for the first time in 1959 (U.S. export model) |

Please set year to 1963, as the MP5 model was introduced in late 1962. |
