In Italy the GAZ 452 had got notoriety overall thru some specialized Firms that convert it as campers to use in desert raids or African holidays,thanks at 4 WD traction;among the better known camper conversions done in Italy, those realized by Carrozzeria Schieppati,named"UAZ Adventure 4X4"(later becoming"La Gazzella"= the gazel,maybe named after not only 'cause they were fast like a gazel,but also 'cause they were GAZ-powered,hiding"GAZ"into "Gazzella" word--prewiewing 25 years ago the same thing that happens today on GAZ GAZelle vans),a transformation appointed just by Italian UAZ Importer Marbros(being both Milanese-based Firms)that was advertised even into factory-made UAZ 452 Italian market-printed catalogues(the camper-converted UAZ 452 were recognizables outside for a metal high-roof-alike"hump"in corrispondence of load bed area on vehicle);another almost known Italian camper conversion was that done by camper vehicles body builder Studio Coppola(similar at that of Schieppati)known as "CamperUAZ".
