I'm thinking, if the plates are real the same. That one on the Mercedes had -surely faked- stickers, but that ones on the Citroen are looking older. ![]() O.k., it's nitpicking from a plate-collector, but my impression is, that the Citroen-plates have a little green-yellow shade. This shade was typical for reflecting plates from 1972 to 1989. In 1971/72 reflecting plates were allowed (for extra costs) in Germany, in 1989 all must be made in this style. Then the make was changed, from a sticker-tape on the plate to a reflecting base-colour. |

What do you think about the rear plate of Citroen? I think is more similar to this one? I'm suprising that they prepared fake German plates (these are fake if I understood well), I would say that there was never any problem with original plates from this country. ![]() |

I cannot identify for sure, that the Mercedes' plates are 100% identical as the Citroen's plates, but my impression of the Citroen's back plate is indeed, that it was made in the 70ies, because of the typical shade. Yes, I'm quite sure, that they are fakes, but it's just my impression. But it's obviously a nerdic idea of me, or an subconscious reflex. Sorry, but I'm collecting plates since my childhood and since a few years only old German ones, and I prefer the reflecting ones from the 70ies - so it's hard for me to control myself. ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-07-18 20:47:21 |
