the letter-series designation for 1962 is "H": 300 H see my new post in the Naming Conventions forum: Link to "forum.imcdb.org" -- Last edit: 2008-04-13 02:16:03 |

Chrysler 300 H |

I will agree it's a 300. But an "H" is not that likely due to the production numbers. Even back when new, these cars were few and far between. (123 conv. built) I think it has the 14" wheels based on the wheel covers. All "H"'s had 15" wheels. |

However, Chrysler products were heavily promoted in this film, and the company provided many of the cars. They used the big screen to expose their top models (e.g. Imperial convertible and 440 Dodge convertible). Thus, rarity is less of an issue; it could be an H. |

The H came standard with tan leather bucket seats, which this car has, and this "caramel" color is one of only four colors the H was offered in. However, both the seats and the color were available on regular 300s as well. I also agree with MoparGeorge about the wheelcovers; I think the H had a unique design that this car appears to lack. |
