That's a base 1.3 or 1.6L. Looks like it finished its life with a 3.0 engine, but I don't see any twin exhausts in the rear shot and those tyres are too thin. Mk II 3000 GT: http://files.capri.pl/capri/mk2-ghia-2.jpg Mk II 1.3L: http://www.delest.nl/media/img/DCP_0258.JPG |

Seeing as how this car was pretty badly wrecked at the end of the chases, I'm guessing the "picture car" was the 3.0 liter model, and then for the chase they used a sub-2 liter "stunt car" and borrowed the other car's registration. |

Maybe. Although, I do remember it sounding like it had a puny engine in the film when it was hijacked from the young driver by Wayne. |

You can indeed see the dual tail pipes in a few shots during the chase sequence. I have to agree with the other posters who suggest two different cars, especially since it continued to be driven after the movie. I would think the base model was the one wrecked and used for stunts while the vehicle described in MOT records was used in closeups that actually contained the actors and not stuntmen. |
