Probably an inside joke, as Pintos were thought to expode. That reputation is the cars claim to fame. Back in 1991, Pinto's and Pacer's could be bought for $100, even less. Pinto's are still cheap but well-preserved Pacers are selling for up to $6000-7000 now. |

Maybe. Studebakers aren't selling for big bucks and I don't know anyone who has a thing for Desotos. Pacers are so goofy and cartoonish they have become a cult classic so people will be willing to pay for that.Amc guys tend to be hard-core.
