But this is intriguing as a 2 door with the newer Chrysler trim, which I don't think had a boyracer production version (like the previous Hillman 1600cc GT 2 door did). There were a couple of experimental works specs at the time such as an Avenger BRM (ie BRM-tuned UK engine) and versions built around the 1800cc and 2000cc Brazilian blocks, but am unsure if these could fit Group 1. But homolgated specs can create some unexpected combinations, so I'll see if I can dig further. Also the red livery is unusual - maybe a local car, not works?? Another possibility is 1300cc for lower class group - there was an export 1300 GT in some countries. #25, finished 5th, Group 1 winner. Also listed as a Sunbeam on some results sites - seems there were a few Avengers in the rally interchangeably recorded as Sunbeam or Chrysler. -- Last edit: 2013-08-10 02:37:47
