Bob Dieck ◊ 2013-08-20 15:29	Front grille is second phase Maverick, from 1977. The engine was 2.3 OHC replacing the old 6 cyl 3 liter Willys origin (from Aero-Willys). Bob Dieck ◊ 2013-08-20 19:29	No, 4 is for 4 cylinders. The Willys-six engine equipped the first Maverick from 74, but the result was very poor. When Ford decided to install the smaller 2.3 OHC, they intended to mark the difference from previous 6 cylinders, so that the 4 came in. During the production the 8 was always available, but there was not a Maverick 8.
