Mille excuses ! |

We should find what is written on the head sides " Firedome?" -- Last edit: 2014-01-06 09:15:55 (modell) |

DeSoto Firedome Sportsman Hardtop Coupe , 1956.The large picture is superb.Even if most of these cars were finished in two color schemes they look as beautifull in one color finish as this one . |

[S23], referring only to the Firedome series name; body style codes unused for 1956. |

Coincidentally, an identical car is visible during one of the driving scenes, from the POV of the car in the main picture: |

Watched this movie the other night...superb film, and I don't know why but I've always loved this car! It's sort of your 1950's "Dad's car"...but it's kind of cool too. Wish I had this one. |

It just says 1950's, doesn't it? Vertigo is an excellent movie for 1950's car watching. |

Agreed...100%! |

..."Firedome" refers to the hemispherical combustion chambers in the "Hemi" engine... |

While often referred to as Firedome Sportsman Hardtop Coupe on the 'net, in the contemporary brochures they were described as Firedome Two-door Sportsman, it seems. So rather no Hardtop Coupe or Forward Look in our listings (even if they were both)? |
