G-MANN ◊ 2014-04-07 21:02	Kaiser (later Kaiser Jeep) was absorbed by AMC in 1970. So AM General have been making these for the US military since 1975. Bombardier has only been making a licensed version for the Canadian military, which must be much smaller than the USA's, so unless anyone can find out how else to identify them, I too think the make should be AM General by default for ones in any movie/TV program made well after '75. They entered production the following year. Reo went bust in 1975, so from then on the M-35 range was produced by AM General. Production finished in 1988. In 1993 or 1994 the Extended Service Program began in which existing M-35s were disassembled and rebuilt with certain parts replaced or upgraded (see bottom of the page at olive-drab.com for more detail) but no new ones were produced. This continued until 1999. I can't find anywhere that discusses Kaiser/Kaiser Jeep producing M-35s apart them being just being listed one of the manufacturers, so I have no idea what percentage of pre-1975 were made by Reo or Kaiser Jeep. Reo seems to be a separate company to Kaiser Jeep or AMC (of which AM General was a subsidiary). -- Last edit: 2014-04-07 22:22:23

mike962 ◊ 2014-04-07 22:26	I couldn't find any fool proof way to distinguish M-35 and M-54 so some M-54 on this sites may have been mis ID for M-35 !! but as you can see in comparison they are like SHOES , the M54 is same just 1 or 2 numbers bigger...
