Origin and/or assembly in Aus or NZ? BTW it's a box truck, not articulated with separate tractor unit - there's a very blurred glimpse from within the hole as it passes over showing integral body.

Yes, assembled by International Harvester after their acquisition of Seddon-Atkinson in July 1974, with 6V92 and 8V92 engine options by Cummins or Detroit Diesel. This was the last model to carry the Atkinson name and was later marketed outside Australia as the International Harvester ACCO.

Atkinson F-4870 built entirely from a design that was expanded on the Australian ACCO design, from the early "bread-box" to the F-4870 (Eagle Version/Large Sleeper). They were built at the Dandenong, Melbourne, Victoria plant since it's inception and have been till the early to middle '90's.

The ACCO name is still being used when Iveco purchased Atkinson from IHC. Unfortunately the F-4870 is no longer being built, but you can an ACCO in a 4x2/6x2/6x4 and 8x4 axle configurations with engines by Cummins up to 320hp (ISL9e)

The F-4870 was sold in both Australian and New Zealand markets with the name change to the latter country as they were already selling Seddon-Atkinson Trucks built in the UK (IHC then Iveco) therefore the F-4870's sold in NZ are considered as Internationals, not Atkinsons as the Atkinson name was only applied to units sold exclusively in Australia.

Sold with GM/Detroit Diesel Allison & Cummins powerplants with ratings from 300hp (NTC-300F) up to 450hp (GM/DDA 8V92TTA) and transmission options up to 20 speeds (Spicer) and axle options up to 48k's
