In the summer of 1979 when I was 18, I spent a holiday in tent in a camping in the Italian riviera, and the neighbors next to my tent was a Belgian family with a VW K70 L (quad round headlights in this colour or a VERY similar one. What a beauty ! I understand your love, Ingo. |

Could this be Japanese version? |

Probable, but the "made for L"-details as sealed beam headlights and front side indicator are not visible on these pics. But it's RHD anyways. It's too new for the very unique Japan-version. This was made only from November 1971 (start of RHD-production) until July 1972 (when the facelift-version with the round headlights for the L-timline came). It was the old version (always with rectangular headlights), in which round double headlights were mounted. I'm too busy to show a pic now (for example the title of the "Cargraphic"-issue 72-9). -- Last edit: 2013-11-16 22:52:58 |

Alaskametallic is indeed a nice colour - so popular, that nowadays several old VW's, not only K 70ies, which had annother original colour first, were painted in this tone at the restoration. |
