1982 Honda Gold Wing (GL1100) 1980 Kawazaki KZ1000P It is a Gold Wing, most probably a GL1100. I believe this is a made-for-movie bike. This movie was shot in 1983, in California I presume (I'm not 100% sure since I can't make out the licence plates of the cars). If it WAS shot in California, I'm almost certain that, at the time, the California Highway Patrol were running only two bikes, the classic Harley and the Kawasaki KZ (remember CHiP's?). Plus, if you look at the Gold Wing, there's no police identification on the bike, no radio and it still has its standard dual seat (CHP bikes, as almost every large police motorcycles, had a single seat only). Plus, the officer is not wearing the CHP uniform (since this looks like a highway, I believe he'd have to be CHP (not LAPD) to pull someone over). So, in my (humble) opinion, not even a realistic police motorcycle reproduction, just a one-off movie prop. -- Last edit: 2014-07-08 02:21:00 |
