Where is XL trim level? I don't see the "XL" inscription under the F-150 inscription on the front fender. |

Maybe XL wasn't put on the fender badge like higher trim levels. Or maybe, during the first few years, trim levels was put on the tailgate badge. -- Last edit: 2008-03-25 03:44:36 |

The commercial use trucks did not display a trim level (although they were based on the XL trim level) They had vinyl seats, manual roll-up windows, manual door locks, and a 5-speed manual transmission. They did come with a AM/FM radio – but no CD or tape player. Heat and A/C were also available. The typical civilian models did show XL on the fender badge and some even came with a chrome grille (Optional equipment from the factory – or dealer installed) |
