exactly, but the truck did look brand new & I'll admit I'm guessing if the truck was brand new that would make this truck a 1982 or 1983 depending on the month that particular Rig was made in |

Can someone tell me what kind of trailer was used. I would like to buy an AMT/ERTL kit for a GMC General truck in 1/18 scale to go with my KITT/KARR diecast models. I am going need to figure out how to buy or build a 1/18 trailer. |

According to the 'Knight Rider Historians', the original day cab General is a 1980 model. For seasons two and three they used a 1984 General that was given to the show by GM as a promotional deal. The second truck stuck around Universal Studios for several years afterward and was even used in other productions, such as 'Steel Collar Man (1985)' and 'Number One With a Bullet (1987)'. The truck was then sold off, and eventually ended up in Idaho, where the Knight Rider Historians team purchased it from. They have a whole video series on the second truck, and their plans to restore it to its former glory.
