Wow, and I thought Arachnophobia was the only one cheap enough to use a dressed up Ford wagon as a hearse. |

Oh, these WERE hearses, indeed. Many companies and local body shops offered this kind of conversion of common station wagons. They were meant to be removal vehicles, but many funeral directors used them like a full size hearse. This one could be made by Automotive Conversion or any other of these companies. |

This may be the same Abbott & Hast 1973 Ford coach used in a later Columbo episode, Last Salute to the Commodore. Abbott & Hast often rented their coaches for filming, so maybe the producers went back to A&H and rented the same coach. Adam Borkat |
