aka E38. |

That's a 1994-1995 E38, as it has an M-plate. Nothing points to the 2001-present format either. |

When did white indicators start - 99?? Plate could be fake. |

Could be a W-plate instead. -- Last edit: 2014-09-25 15:03:38 |

That's not correct either. This is not an E38 LCI (1998/09-2000/04) nor LCI II (2000/04-2001/10), which the latter had them standard across the line. Only 1994-1998 light shape and time period. I had an E38 in my family for over 5 years (2000-2006) and also know that the front indicators were raised/shortened from September 1998. Clear indicators were available on 1994-00 versions, becoming standard in April 2000 for the last LCI (ours was an example). If it was even it was an LCI, unless one can see the whole bodywork, you couldn't deduce if it is a 1998-2000(black lower cladding) or 2000-01 (monotone lower cladding) from this shot, because of the dark body colour. It is not anyway, as this movie is set prior to September 1997 and the filmmakers succeeded in avoiding anachronisms with this 1994-97 style BMW. Change it to correctly reflect 1994-1998. |

And why would it be a W-plate, when this movie's setting runs through September 1997? It is already clear by the height of the front turn signals, it's a pre-facelift E38 (1994-98). 1997 vs 1999 L vs 2001 vs vs |
