Plate looks like R9 JJD (which could be personalised for the travel firm). Now on a 2004 Saab 9.5, but might still show on coach lists?? |

This vehicle looks like a re-registered vehicle. Plaxton Supreme is 1970's bodywork product but _ 000 AAA style number vehicle (_represents A-Z) starts from 1983/8/1. Link to "en.wikipedia.org" |

The plates look like _151 JJD. JJD is clearly seen. The first letter of the plate looks like "sticks" with first number (second character of the plate) together. Its not easy to guess but I shall find it if possible from the operator name (J. D. Travel)... |

I could not find it in the Plaxton list. Went from 75 to 92 but I could have missed it. |

that would be compliant with 1983 grille retrofitted to 1979 or so Supreme body, and thus not in official list? http://www.flickr.com/photos/57422309@N00/11296102955 one of two Supremes with this grille to be found by picture search, and it is later silver anodised version. -- Last edit: 2014-02-02 02:01:40 |

If anyone's trying on plates, I've realised P.... and R.... can be eliminated as after the film date - nothing after N ... is possible. B... , E.... and F .... are the best fits, possibly with A .... as a wildcard in some 80s plate fonts. |

I was looking for a delivery to JD Travel, nothing. Either bought 2nd hand or a figment of a film company's imagination. |

Its not a Supreme its a Panorama Elite (early 7os) a prefixed number plate would not be legal on this vehicle. |

Well done Eddie, The body is a "Plaxton Panorama Elite Express III" and yes it's had a newer front panel from a later "Paramount" model just to confuse us....this was a common practice in the 80s....add a newer front and private plate to make the vehicle look newer than it was The Panorama Elite III Is one of the easiest models to identify, as the previous model (Panorama Elite II) had a single bit of trim at waist height (where the cream stripe is) ONLY the Elite III had the two parallel bits of trim creating the bit where the stripe is, the next model was the first "Supreme" Chassis could be Ford R1114, Bedford YRT or YMT, Bristol LHL, Leyland Leopard, or AEC Reliance, very doubtful that it would be a Volvo or Daf :-) |

Pedantically the body is a 1973-75 Plaxton Elite Express III rather than a Panorama Elite III - the bus type 2-piece door (and the model name lettering) can be seen in the other picture. The other picture also shows a lack of nearside fuel/filler caps and just one locker/engine cover door just forward of the rear axle. Based on a bit of Flickr searching I think that layout suggests a Bedford YRT as the most likely chassis. |
