Yes it was greymarket imported in the early 80s into Florida, It has been in Alaska since about 1988. I've owned it for almost 8 years. THere are about a 100 known E21 Baur topcabriolets in the USA. As far as I know this is the first time one has been in an USA movie. My research would indicate that Farid Kharvi was the original owner. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khavari) and was imported into the USA by his wife. There can't be too many people in the world with her name (her name is stamped on the import tag on the door)and from Iran, who married a guy who got his masters and PhD in Germany in the city where the car was purchaced originally and then became a USA citizen and moved to Florida...Where I know the car was imported to thanks to car fax... -- Last edit: 2014-02-03 19:59:38 |

ah cool then my can be the first in a USA movie then lol....I posted that up on the Baur page to see if we know that baur or not. of course that was nearly 30 years ago. I forgot you can also see my car in an episode of My Classic cars in the background as he oogles a Marcus. that was back in 2008. |
