Indeed. Expedition Special Service Vehicle (SSV) for fire, police, emergency medical service (EMS)/search & rescue, and government fleet use. This particular one is (or was) a police vehicle, it may belong to a picture car company, for rental use. |

Found it! It’s a retired SSV, now owned by Cinema Vehicle Services, available for rent at a rate of 350 USD per day. Mechanically, it’s fully equipped to do whatever police may need to ask of it. Its fitted with selectable automatic full-time ControlTrac four-wheel drive, four-wheel electronic traction control (brake differential locking control), dual front closed-loop recovery points, underbody skid-plate amour, and the heavy-duty trailer towing package. As far as luxury appointments go... there are none. As the inside photos of it show (from Cinema Vehicle Services) SSVs are stripped of almost every luxury feature that are found on civilian Expeditions. No perforated leather seats, no leather wrapped steering wheel, no wood on the dash or doors, no brushed aluminium interior décor, no touchscreen infotainment system, no plush carpeting, no fancy electronic toys. Just a plain workhorse. Note it has a column shifter, which civilian Expeditions do not have. The floor is also covered in washable vinyl. |
