Not easy to see the grille but Dr Google reckons '65 Newport. |

Pretty sure it's a '66 New Yorker. |

^I'm inclined to agree. My only caveat being the b-pillar looks fixed and my sources tell me the only pillared New Yorker sedan in 66 was the six window variety. |

For 1965, the New Yorker 4-door sedan used the six-window Town Sedan style which also used by the 1965 Chrysler Newport Based on this pic, if it is a New Yorker it is a 1966 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Chrysler_New_Yorker_Town_Sedan_1965.JPG After further research it is a 1966 New Yorker http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/652/2029/39128514002_large.jpg -- Last edit: 2014-03-04 13:49:06 |

^The first picture clearly is of a six window design and the second is a Newport. Who keeps validating this without proof? |

Hmmmm.... Rather looks like a '66 Newport with a New Yorker grille, doesn't it? My period NADA agrees - no 4-window New Yorkers for 1966. |

According to both "The Encyclopedia of American Cars" by the eds of Consumer Guide and "The Chrysler Chronicle" by the same authors there WAS A 1966 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER HARDTOP 4-WINDOW SEDAN MODEL BC3-H (43) WHICH SOLD 26,599 COPIES (PG 212) -- Last edit: 2014-03-06 23:40:15 |

The car in question is a four window pillared sedan. A body style we cannot find any record of in the 66 New Yorker. Six window sedan: 13,025 Two door hardtop coupe: 7,955 Pillar less sedan: 26,599 Four window sedan: no record |

Per Commander 57 My period NADA agrees - no 4-window New Yorkers for 1966. It may not be a pillared sedan but it does have 4-windows. So by process of eliminination we all must agree that it is a NEWPORT and NOT a New Yorker |

"1966 Chrysler Newport modified with a New Yorker grille", then? (I should have been more specific in my post above and said: "My period NADA agrees - no 4-window New Yorker SEDANS for 1966." Of course, the 4-door HARDTOPS had 4 windows.) |

Just to make things more complicated, this was filmed in Canada. It appears there were no 4-window New Yorker sedans for 1966 there either, but there were no Newports either. The model was Windsor in Canada through 1966. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ifhp97/8626195787/ |
