J-10 4WD, I say. There was no Jeep 2WD then that I know of. |

The Gladiator name was dropped after 1971, after which the line was known simply as the Jeep pickup. The pickups were designated as J2000 and J4000 models (the 3000 series was dropped in 1971) until 1973, then as J10 and J20 models from 1974 to 1988. The model designations were simplified for 1974, with the J-2000 becoming the J-10 and the J-4000 changed to J-20. I don't know if this applies to models built between 1971 and 1988 but - Gladiators were available in RWD and 4WD, -- Last edit: 2014-03-05 01:12:46 |

The Kaiser-Jeep era logo was eliminated in 1974, so that's the oldest this could possibly be. |

And so is the locking front hub, which proves it doesn't have 2WD. Nevertheless, it was made between 1974 and 1978. |

Wouldn't it have full-time 4WD Quadra-Trac? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_four-wheel-drive_systems |

I thought that was optional, especially on the trucks. |
