in the background a fully loaded Renault 4 F6 P.S.The Polonez was not officially sold in West Germany, but back then, in the late 80ies, Polish citizens were allowed to travel to the West (and even to work there). -- Last edit: 2014-08-04 19:27:49 |

@Ingo - In fact Polonez was offically sold in West Germany for a while. 3455 cars were exported there. I have reproduction of the W. German brochure of the company Promotor from Heilbronn, which offered them. I don't know was it the main importer or simply one of the dealers. The, car visible here, for 99,9% has a Polish plates though. It was possible already earlier, but in the 2nd half of the 80s it indeed had to be the most easy/popular in the entire 40 years of socialism (though still with a lot of bureaucracy). -- Last edit: 2014-09-17 17:45:49 |

You're right. Now I remember a short notice in a motor-magazine back then, that the official import of the Polonez has now started. But such informations were never that trustworthy. There were so many new models announced, whch finally never came. Or in a such homeopathic way, that you cannot name it appearance. -- Last edit: 2014-09-18 22:08:00 |
