datsunZ ◊ 2006-11-22 16:42	In Mexico they had various names,depending by m.y.;in 1985 was called VW El Volkswagen,in 1994 simply VW Sedan(like early'50s Brazilian-made Beetles);locally-nicknamed also as "la cucharacha"(=the beetle)"El"(The,contraption of "El Volkswagen",The VW,i.e.,the VW car for antonomasy)and "el nombril"(the navel,'cause...anyone owns one of those) PS The Mexican-made Beetle(1975 m.y.1303trim still)was imported also in Italy(renamed by our Importer as VW Maggiolino 1200 L=Lusso=luxe,but if it don't shown that long name written on body)thru 1979-1986,but only with 1.200 cc.boxer engine(1600 cc.Mexican-made Beetles weren't available on Italian Market never,but only at home and for some selected export Countries)
