Not sure of the body manufacturer, but the plaque on the grille says "Chassis by Ford." |

Never heard of them. Maybe the one in Psycho Beach Party is the same thing, and not a Boyertown: /vehicle_145678-Ford-unknown.html |

This is a 1979 Superior Step van, scroll down on this link and you will find a matching one Link to "www.ebay.com" |

The page says 1979 Superior School Bus, and they are probably referring to the school bus pictured there. Superior is a known bus body manufacturer. Are you talking about the white van? The brochure says it is an International 1610 and does not mention Superior. The van body looks similar but there is no clue offered in the brochure as to who made it. Besides, the van pictured here on IMCDb is not using an International chassis (check the style of the front wheels). More likely to be a Ford chassis as aforementioned. |

It matches this one /vehicle_188484-Superior-Step-Van-1979.html which Jale says is a 1979 Superior Step van. |

Ok, I did not know Jale renamed this one. Let's make it Superior then. |

I renamed, because both has identic body, and if this one is on Ford chassis, they can't be made by IH, but by different coachbuilder. Unfortunately I can't find in Internet any pictures of similar van or similar fire truck... |

The above truck was a 1978 ford N600 chassis which had a 330 medium duty engine and a C6 transmission It was purchased by field enterprises to be used by The Chicago Daily News which ceased publication march of 1978 The Chassis was delivered to Grumman Olson plant in Sturgis Michigan then sat in their lot for almost a year. Then it was transported to Penn Body Co. in Chicago in early 1979 where it received the body. There were 10 Trucks with the Penn Body and 5 with Grumman Olson. The 15 Trucks were then all used by The Chicago Sun Times which was also owned by Field Enterprises -- Last edit: 2022-11-05 02:20:21 |
