MAN? Saviem? Roman-Diesel? |

This was filmed in Romania, so it's probably a Roman: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0110410/locations |

... or Rába. As this movie was filmed in Romania 'ROMAN' is most likely. I do not know if the F8 designation used by MAN was also used for the ROMAN versions. |

Didn't see you comment, Gag. As far as I know 'Diesel' is not part of the brand or model name, but just 'ROMAN'. The cooperation with MAN started in 1969. At first Rába made MAN engines were used, later ROMAN built the MAN engines under licence, too. -- Last edit: 2006-11-26 00:08:51 |

Listed as Roman Diesel (with Diesel as model name) there: /vehicle_34669-Roman-Diesel.html (I do not know which name is correct) |

... not here: /vehicle_11560-Roman-F8-1969.html ![]() The one you linked has the typical Saviem indicators. I don't think ROMAN used these. |

You have another picture with this truck? It's look like a tanker! If it's a tanker, is Roman R 8.135 F! I don't remember to seen before, tank trailers pulled by tractors so small, like this - 135HP. All tank trailers which I seen in time, in RO, was pulled by: 2 axle R 10.215, 2 axle R 10.256, 3 axle R 12.215, 3 axle R 19.215, 3 axle R 19.256. All had medium or long cab - short cab have in that period only small engines version : 2 axle R 8.135, 3 axle R 12.135 - and none of this, not pulled tank trailers, because they have a GVW of 22.5 to. -- Last edit: 2010-01-12 11:05:38 |
