But Class C motorhomes aren't (for the most part) listed by body maker... |

Let's have a pow-wow. (Because it's a bit messy in this area.) |

I agree with you on the fact that campers are not all identified by the manufacturer but by the basic vehicle. But I think that when we manage to identify the manufacturer and what this one to attribute a specific name to him, we can categorize it so. ![]() |

That could work. The two problems are that a) some people would probably prefer to have one system across all of them and b) the chassis are more 'known' by people who might search the site. I suppose antp will say something about the next version of the site having the ability to list with both names which would sort that. At the moment, the listing of motorhomes are a mess. There are Class A and Class C motorhomes listed under both converter and chassis. I've said in the past that I think that all Class As should be listed under converter as quite often they put similar bodies on different chassis meaning the base vehicle is the difficult part. cf: /vehicle_736720-Mobilvetta-Euroyacht.html which was listed as unknown for some time as that body came on both Fiat and Iveco chassis. For Class Cs it's a bit different as the Cab is the easy part and the motorhomes often only become identifiable if there is lettering or a recognisable badge on it. Whatever it is, I think we need to definitively decide on how these are to be listed once and for all. I'll try to clean some of the ones we have once that is done. |

Indeed... For cases like this one, I don't know what's the most important info, the chassis-cab or the camper make. For Class A it is indeed easier, since usually nothing from the original chassis is visible, it has a whole new body, like buses. -- Last edit: 2015-04-27 17:24:28 |
