From a bit of research, it appears that the name of the manufacturer is not Faun but Faun-BN (for La Brugeoise & Nivelles, the belgian train manufacturer who either assembled or built under license those vehicles for the belgian army). The name actually appears on the cabs : instead of FAUN, there is a plate reading "Kronenburg Faun BN". https://www.flickr.com/photos/matthys/9852214273/ http://nl.milpedia.org/wiki/Bestand:MAC_08S.JPG Kronenburg being a dutch outfitter for firefighting vehicles. Now here's when it gets difficult. Some websites call this series of fire trucks "Faun-BN MAC 08S 4x4 Saval-Kronenburg" and date it from 1989. However : - the truck's plate only reads "Kronenburg", and that's because the company Saval-Kronenburg actually demerged in 1991. - also, MAC 08S is a Kronenburg designation. The Faun model name is unknown. |
