It is an armoured ARO of the 240 series. I am still looking for images to confirm this and to give the correct name and age. |

It was converted by 'RomArm' and based on the military version ARO Dragon III. |

That's an interesting find because you never get to see any of these on the streets. Also, the license plate is undoubtedly fake. |

This car is a ARO A.B.I. (Autovehicul blindat de interventie -in english - Armoured Intervention Vehicle) used before 1990 by USLA (Unităţii Speciale de Luptă Antiteroristă - Special Antiterorist Fight Units), the number plate is a regular romanian plate. |

Dragon is a another special military type of ARO , but made after the '90s |

Not really a "regular" license plate for the year the movie was filmed =2006, considering that these old types of plates were replaced in 1992. They either used an old license plate for this car or they made one, and this one looks fake to me, the font is wrong, it's too bold, or it's maybe just the bad lighting that makes it look this way. |

IIRC the film is set in Moldova and the producers made up their own Moldovan plates based on old Romanian ones. ROMARM is a holding company formed in 2000, so it should be deleted if the vehicle dates from before then. http://www.romarm.ro/index.php/pages/index/1/Home |

Isn't "ARO Dragon III" but "Automecanica Moreni AM 100". http://www.automobileromanesti.ro/Altele/Uzina_Automecanica_Moreni/ http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product951.html |
