Forget all the million-dollar supercars in the 200mph+ club, Formula One cars are really the fastest cars in the world, in one Top Gear episode they do a lap round the Top Gear track with an F1 car and it does it in under a minute, all the greatest supercars like the Koenigsegg, Pagani Zonda and Ferrari Enzo could only manage about 1 minute 17 seconds. |

What about Indycars and Top Fuel dragsters? ![]() |

I don't know about Indycars but dragsters, and Land Speed Record cars for that matter, can't be maneuvered around a racetrack. |

It depends on what you really mean by "fastest car in the world": Straight line, on a track, offroad, highway legal, endurance, 1/4 mile, etc.? Need to define your terms. |

Honda's F1 team made an Formula 1 speed record of 354,975 km/h. However German Porsche tuner 9ff made a record of 380 km/h for tuning cars. On a track F1 is probably fastest but on a long straight line I don't know... |

It was more of an expression. Simply put, no production car built yet could keep up with an F1 car on a race circuit. |
