Unusual shape?? |

Assumptions. 1. That this is another bus from the James, Ammanford fleet. 2. That the "unusual shape" is due to it being a wartime "Utility" design. 3. That it looks to be a lowbridge type. Example of Roe Lowbridge Utility body with no opening windows upstairs, and only two per side in the saloon. http://www.sct61.org.uk/hie21 Another, with some new windows in rubber gasket type fittings http://www.sct61.org.uk/wr594 Fact. We know that James owned at least two Guy Arab 2 rear entrance double deck buses with Roe lowbridge bodywork, fleet nos 169 and 170, BTH 813 and BTH 910 respectively. The registrations are by Carmarthenshire County Council and date to about 1944/5, and it is just possible that this bus may be one of those two.......but there are too many assumptions, and, as we all know, never assume, because it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me". -- Last edit: 2014-07-17 15:11:35 |
