There is only one other, from the back, in movement, hence blurry. |

Il fallait être un capitaine émérite pour négocier, avec cet immense navire (au Canada, on dirait plutôt «barge»), les rues et routes étroites de France. -- Last edit: 2014-07-31 20:33:42 |

Series 62 by the side trim. I think an extended deck model. |

Somename is one of our most dependable members and I have come to respect his identifications. He does not make them lightly. His ID photo links are excellent reference sources. He's one of the few I rarely go behind to verify the accuracy of his posts. If anyone on this board would qualify as a "Cadillac expert", or really most any GM full-sized car expert I would say it would be him. And for the sake of ID information on the subject car, the Sedan de Ville has heavier side trim in the rear fender/door area. The thumbnail DidieF provided shows the car has the narrower trim of the 62 series. |

Why not 'Series 62 Sedan DeVille'? (I found it existed, p.104-105 of my Standard catalog of American cars.) |

Per the brochures, though, the Sedan de Ville version has the heavier side trim which the subject car appears to lack. |

Thanks for the complement Commander_57. ![]() Anyway to further elaborate; in 1958 Cadillac had the Series 62 the Series 62 Extended Deck and the Sedan DeVille. As you can see in the images provided; the Series 62 and Sedan DeVille have a different trim on the rear quarter panel protrusion. In accordance; the vehicle in question can clearly be identified as a Series 62. Now I am not sure if it is the standard or extended deck model. ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-08-04 19:47:23 |
