With text on the grille, this can't be too hard, can it? |

Could it be a Queen? (1904-07) That's the only make I can think of spontaneously that starts with O or Q. -- Last edit: 2017-02-12 17:11:37 |

A quick look in my Georgano's lists 86 makes beginning with "O" and 11 beginning with "Q". As a starter, the word looks too short to be Oldsmobile, but too long to be Opel. |

In "turn-of-the-century America" probably not Opel... |

I got it. I finally freaking got it. 1906 Queen from the Tupelo Automobile Museum in Tupelo, Mississippi. I was a bit confused at first because I thought the museum was from the midwest (mixed up Tupelo and Topeka) but then I suddenly remembered where Tupelo was. Admitted, it's still a bit far from Carrolton and Greenwood (the filming locations) but at least it's in the same state! http://www.remarkablecars.com/photos/1906-queen-07074.jpg -- Last edit: 2018-01-28 22:30:49 |

Any objections? I think it looks very similar. And as said there is quite a good chance of it being the linked car. |

All these old cars look the same to me, though that one looks pretty much exactly the same as this one to me. |

Second Queen on the site! ![]() Perhaps the other cars from the film also come from that museum (I already checked, and couldn't find any other cars that matched, but maybe they haven't been photographed) Anyways, nice to finally clear this one up after all this time. |

My book lists three models for 1906 - the Model F, Model E and Model K. The F had a 76" wheelbase and a 12/16 hp engine, the E was 84" and 16/20 hp and the Model K was 100" and 26/28 hp. However, the Model F was a 2 passenger-runabout, therefore limiting this down to two models. Perhaps someone like nzcarnerd can estimate the wheelbase, here's a side view of this car for comparison: http://www.remarkablecars.com/photos/1906-queen-07072.jpg |

Maybe worth contacting the museum as they should know? http://www.tupeloautomuseum.com/contact.php |

I'm not sure. Anyone can see it's a Queen by the radiator script, but I doubt they have information that specific. ![]() Besides, I'm too shy for contacting them. ![]() -- Last edit: 2018-02-17 22:07:17 |
