I've spoken to the owner of this vehicle. It's a 1996 Mitsubishi Diamante factory LHD model (I assume US Spec). It is also seen in Daybreakers (2009), and Superman Returns (2006) |

It can't be a 1996 Diamante. 1997 was the first model year for this generation in the USA. |

No, it can't be 1996. This is an export Diamante built for the US. In the US, there was no 1996 Diamante. If it was a Verada or Magna, then yes, it could be a 1996. But for Diamante it must be 1997+. |
