Custom Southampton hardtop sedan or Crown Southampton hardtop sedan |

Doors with window frames means it is not a Southampton hardtop. Based on the fender script, I'd say Custom. Custom: http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1960/SpottersGuide/Fenderscript-Custom.jpg Crown: http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1960/SpottersGuide/Fenderscript-Crown.jpg |

Both Custom and Crown series were Southhampton hardtops....so.... |

There were Southamptons in both series, but not all Crowns and Customs were Southamptons. The Southampton name only applied to pillarless hardtops; both Crown and Custom series had both pillarless four-door hardtops and pillared four-door sedans available. This car is clearly a pillared sedan. http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1960/FactsAndFigures.htm http://www.imperialclub.org/Yr/1960/Brochure/index.htm (ImperialClub.org is a great resource when it comes to Imperials) I'm not trying to pick a fight. |

I am asking a question because the source I am using DOES NOT mention a pillared sedan in either series.... I found another source that does list pillared sedans ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-10-10 04:07:04 |

Just to complete the listing, the Imperial Lebaron also came as both a 4-door sedan and 4-door Southampton hardtop. Regardless, this is one heck of a beautiful car! |
