Good to see Belfast buses from 1981/2 survive the troubles and go onto be used in a film. I remember getting them about belfast a few times a week. Pinewood studies bought three Citybus RELLs XOI 2505/6/22. The following site has a few pics of 2506. http://bcv.robsly.com/xoi2506.html |

In fact that website says that the bus was bought by a company called Quietus Productions, which must have been set up to make Children of Men. (Quietus is the name of a euthenasia drug in the film.) The site also says that this bus has an armoured windscreen. Perhaps that's why the producers chose the Belfast buses - I have a feeling that there's a scene with people throwing stones at the bus. |
