Oddly enough, I do not recall any Montgomery Ward stores being located in the Philadelphia market in the 1970s-1980s. |

At that time period, no. Home Depot and Lowe's were not things in the 1980s. They didn't really grow until the late 90s-early 2000s. In this area, you had Sears and JC Penney's, hardware stores, brand stores (like John Deere or Honda shops), and outdoor lawn & garden stores (I remember one being Gaudio's in this area and Frank's Nursery). Montgomery Ward was a Sears competitor, but I don't think there were everywhere, and I would imagine that you could only buy that brand at their stores or catalogue. |
