Front wing looks wrong for Oxford MO, which leads to Morris Six or even Wolseley 6/80 as chrome window surround - eg /vehicle_121244-Wolseley-6-80-1950.html . I think I vote Wolseley - anyone else?? |

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/58/Wolseley_4-50_rear.jpg Not always. https://www.flickr.com/photos/22009880@N06/7250498430 Definitely not always, but I think it's the same example. http://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wolseley_6-80_rear.jpg Sometimes rules are not rules. -- Last edit: 2014-12-09 23:28:13 |

I've emailed a man who might know. Entered as 1949 4/50. |

Very helpful email reply from Patrick Carroll, President, 6/80 & MO Club - www.680mo.org.uk So MO Oxford & MS Morris Six had plain rubber, all Wolseley 4/50 & 6/80 left factory with chrome trim (so previous rule that 4/50 did not is no longer valid) BUT surviving Wolseleys of both types may no longer have that chrome trim for practical reasons. Therefore presence means either Wolseley version, but absence does not necessarily exclude Wolseley. Plus a small detail to split 4/50 (fixed rear quarterlights) from 6/80 (opening rear quarterlights with visible catch in right circumstances) in case it's ever useful. |

A very comprehensive summary and very good of Patrick Carroll to spare the time. Well done by DSL. All we need now is to encounter a Morris which somebody has stuck a chrome trim onto and we will have the set! -- Last edit: 2014-12-11 21:55:19 |
